Montage Monday – Maple Syrup April 12, 2010

Sugaring Off at the Sucrerie de la Montagne in Rigaud Quebec

Yesterday I enjoyed a fabulous time at Sucrerie de la Montagne in Rigaud Quebec. It was a timeless Quebecois experience of traditional yumminess: French Canadian pea soup, fresh baguette, sausage, Canadian back bacon, tortiere pie, omelette, sausage, ham, mashed potatoe, pancakes and a maple sugar pie. Did I mention there was a pitcher of pure maple syrup on the table and tire sur la neige (maple taffy on snow) outside?? Ok, there wasn’t any snow left on the ground and it was on crushed ice, but it’s always a fan favorite! There was a traditional live music, my daughter danced, and there was a horse drawn hay ride around the property. It was so pretty and fun, we have a great time at this location every year when we go.

Today is items that remind me of my maple syrup induced hangover, all the beauty and aroma minus the calories:

Link Love – Treasury ::Green Tea with Zen and Honey:: April 3, 2010

I always love it when I’ve been chosen to be a part of a treasury. It means someone took the time to love my product and link it up for others to enjoy within the company of other fine pieces of work. Today, while waking up and not yet enjoying my loyal cup of coffee I found a message in my Etsy convo box telling me to check this link: Green Tea with Zen & Honey Treasury on Etsy

Wooooot Wooot – it is so gorgeous! I love the theme and the colors are just divine. Many of you know that my favorite color is green and mixed in with natural hues of brown and gold it just pops off the screen.

I want to take a moment here to thank Steph’s Art & Glass for featuring my Mug Hugger in your treasury – please everyone take a minute to check out her shop:

Montage Monday – Organization March 8, 2010

With spring weather comes spring cleaning. Eeeek.

I have to admit that cleaning is something that I loathe. Not because its unpleasant, but as a stay at home mom it seems as I clean and tidy, I have a mess crew directly behind me making things worse. This is a huge roadblock in my organization.

One cool tool I found last year that I’m going to share with you is Motivated Moms. They have devised a one year check list of almost all the things you need to do to keep ahead of the chaos. I LOVE CHECKLISTS! Sure, some days, or weeks I stray away from my list, but the weeks where I have it out and accessible at least my house is clean, maybe not tidy, but clean.

Go check it out, they even have a 2 week free print out:

Here are some lovely organization items from around the web:

MONTREAL - 12 X 12 Black and White Fine Art Photography by aroldblanchet on Etsy

It’s a beautiful Monday morning, the skies are blue, the ground is a beautiful sparkling white. From the indoors its perfect, outside however it is a brutal, fresh cold that accost you the moment you exit the door. I love the beauty of winter, but have a hard time adjusting to the cold weather. I think I am destined for warmer climates, but ended up blessed with the 4 perfect seasons of Montreal. Honestly, I think Montreal is the perfect of cities, beautifully planted island in driving distance of everything. With our fluently bilingual residents (for the most part) its like a fabulous extension of Europe planted in North America. It is beautiful in any language.

Have you ever had the opportunity to visit Montreal? What were your thoughts? Did you have a chance to visit our famous bakeries, restaurants and shopping? Did you visit le Vieux Port (old port)? Did you have a chance to see our gorgeous and famous ski hills such as Tremblant?

Here’s a little dedication to Montreal the city & its wonderful collection of artisans:

Recently a cool girl who I tweet with started a project 365.  If you don’t know what project 365 is – you take  one photograph a day throughout the year.  It gives the photographer a collective way to look back over the year and remember cool things that happened, and it also enables others to catch a glimpse at your life.

My Mondays will feature a montage of photos from the week that recently passed. Warning.. I do not take  art house photos, all of my days are with my little ones and with Etsy I already spend enough time with photo editing software. I’ll call this  project 52 – 52 weeks of photos. Maybe next year I’ll strive to take one each day 😀

I’ll even show you some of the pics my 3-year-old takes – she’s recently taken to my camera (I’ll probably lose control of that soon also!)
