Alright, I've sworn of publishing my personal political views. However, that is somehting like those horrible New Years resolutions that I can't keep underwraps.

I'm not here telling you how to vote, how that might affect our country or anything. Just asking you to get out to the polls and vote. I did a couple weeks back at the advance polling stations in my town. I felt sick leaving there, not knowing if I'd done the right thing or not. Never had I been so indecisive, never so questioning, never so afraid.

Here, in Quebec, land of the Bloc, seperation threats and nonsense, as far back as I remember its always been a vote for them or a vote for the liberals. Anything outside of those perameters has always been vote splitting, therefore a vote for the Bloc. This year I feel a change in the tide, people are voting their gut, voting strategically, and voting for change.

Unsure how to vote? Check out this quick set of questions based on the partie's platforms. It will tell you which party is most inline with your views:

Have you tried it? Turns out the party I felt best about is the FURTHEST from my views. I also didn't vote for the party closest, because I feel they don't stand any chance in hell of aquiring any momentum this late in the game.

Anyhow, go out and vote. Wether it be a strategic vote, a loyalist vote or destroying your ballot.

Make your voice heard!

Montage Monday – Gemini May 31, 2010

When I think of June I can’t help but think of my Gemini friend & daughter. Wow they are engaging, fun, and e-x-h-a-u-s-t-i-n-g, and I say that with love. I remember reading somewhere once that you can only have one Gemini in your life, I have more than one.

I was going to give you an explanation of the character traits of a Gemini, but decided against it. Instead I’ll just share a small paragraph I read on Mystical Blaze about Gemini children. It was like reading a report card on my little girl:

“For those with a Gemini child,  get ready for a ride!  These kids can be sweet, cooperative little angels one moment and infuriating monsters the next.  Gemini children are very verbal and soak information in like sponges.  They therefore tend to master the art of communication quite early, often displaying knowledge beyond their years.  This is a high-strung child with a lot of pent-up energy, so don’t be surprised if your 6-year-old Gemini claims to have “tension headaches” or other physical complaints beyond his years”

Here are some Gemini inspired indies for your viewing pleasure:

Montage Monday – Maple Syrup April 12, 2010

Sugaring Off at the Sucrerie de la Montagne in Rigaud Quebec

Yesterday I enjoyed a fabulous time at Sucrerie de la Montagne in Rigaud Quebec. It was a timeless Quebecois experience of traditional yumminess: French Canadian pea soup, fresh baguette, sausage, Canadian back bacon, tortiere pie, omelette, sausage, ham, mashed potatoe, pancakes and a maple sugar pie. Did I mention there was a pitcher of pure maple syrup on the table and tire sur la neige (maple taffy on snow) outside?? Ok, there wasn’t any snow left on the ground and it was on crushed ice, but it’s always a fan favorite! There was a traditional live music, my daughter danced, and there was a horse drawn hay ride around the property. It was so pretty and fun, we have a great time at this location every year when we go.

Today is items that remind me of my maple syrup induced hangover, all the beauty and aroma minus the calories:
