Montage Monday – Organization March 8, 2010
With spring weather comes spring cleaning. Eeeek.
I have to admit that cleaning is something that I loathe. Not because its unpleasant, but as a stay at home mom it seems as I clean and tidy, I have a mess crew directly behind me making things worse. This is a huge roadblock in my organization.
One cool tool I found last year that I’m going to share with you is Motivated Moms. They have devised a one year check list of almost all the things you need to do to keep ahead of the chaos. I LOVE CHECKLISTS! Sure, some days, or weeks I stray away from my list, but the weeks where I have it out and accessible at least my house is clean, maybe not tidy, but clean.
Go check it out, they even have a 2 week free print out: http://www.motivatedmoms.com/products.html
Here are some lovely organization items from around the web:

As I peruse the bountiful items on Etsy, Artfire & Icraft I am always shocked and impressed with what I see. Many of you have such creative minds, and maybe sometimes I don’t understand the work, but I can always appreciate the work and imagination that goes on behind it. I love sewing, it is more technical – I get to be more creative with fabrics, threads, combinations of colors & accessories. I have never been able to draw very much outside of stick men & cutesy doodle flowers, nor have I been able to work with clay or pottery (successfully).
I once to a pottery class in college. I had so much fun spinning on the wheel trying to make a set of 12 identical mugs.. I took many, many tries and they looked similar, but not like a unified set. I can appreciate the work that goes into pottery & clay models. It takes very skilled hands to perfect these arts – the details that goes into them is just unbelievable. While I wish I could go back and try it again, feel the clay rippling under my hands, I know this was not my calling.
Here are a few clay inspired items to start off your day:
Crafty Friday – New Valentine’s day goodies January 29, 2010
Valentine’s day is almost upon us – and I’m a little late getting to the starting gate! For all of you who have yet to buy for your special someone, or wish to add something cute to their wish list – here are a few things that I’ve whipped up and have added to the store today. All items are available at both Artfire & Etsy for your shopping convenience.
Enjoy!
I can’t help but add this one to my list, it has been in my store for a couple of weeks, but it is perfect for the sewist in your life (or for yourself), it is so fun!
Crafty Friday January 8, 2010
I think Friday’s I’ll take a little opportunity to visit what I’ve been up to during the week. This week I took my new sewing machine for a little spin. Seemed like every time I went to the basement to throw in a new load of laundry I would take the opportunity to cut more items. By the time Monday evening came around I saw that I had a pile of eye pillows BEGGING to be sewn. Many new!
My Christmas season was pretty good for its first year. I attended a craft show, made online sales and even some neighbors & friends. My stock was needing replenishment and to be updated. Gladly I conceded.
Yesterday, I took a little time to take some photos of the new goods. Here are a few of the newbies in (and coming) to the store:
Want to know a little bit about my eye pillows? I started making them last summer when I couldn’t take any medication for my migraines. They also help with sinus pain, standard headaches, bumps & bruises and sore muscles. They constructed with flaxseed, lentils and lavender. I recommend throwing one in your freezer so that it will always be ready to help you relax and refresh!
