My Coffee Profile May 21, 2011

I LOVE coffee. You already knew that didn't you? Admit it, if you are reading this you probably love coffee also. However, for as much as I love coffee, I really don't know all that much about the different types of beans, roasts, intensities, etc. I just know what I like when I sip it. 

I came accross this cool coffee profile link on Facebook the other day and it actually was pretty spot on. Its by Van Houtte, which I find make delicious coffee (although a tad outside of my bulk coffee bean budget).

Rainy Days

I think I can count on one hand how many ‘gorgeous’ days we’ve had since the beginning of Spring. Cold and rainy has been the status quo here in Montreal. I loved this beautiful ‘Rainy Days’ treasury by AbbysAtticNJ and was very flattered that my coffee sleeve was included.

Mother's day May 9, 2011

This year for mother's day I picked up a few gorgeous vintage clay pots from a garage sale and had the children paint them (with washable paint). We then picked a few plants and placed them in the pots for my mom, my mother in law and my grandmother.

I chose a really pretty flower called a 'Fire Witch' in cheddar pink. As a relative of the carnation it has a nice fragrance, the unusual blue grey stems and a gorgeous flower. I did remind the moms that the name of the flower has nothing to do with my feelings towards them. 

Sadly, being the prepared mom that I am (insert snicker here), I neglected to take any photos.

Just Vote May 2, 2011

Alright, I've sworn of publishing my personal political views. However, that is somehting like those horrible New Years resolutions that I can't keep underwraps.

I'm not here telling you how to vote, how that might affect our country or anything. Just asking you to get out to the polls and vote. I did a couple weeks back at the advance polling stations in my town. I felt sick leaving there, not knowing if I'd done the right thing or not. Never had I been so indecisive, never so questioning, never so afraid.

Here, in Quebec, land of the Bloc, seperation threats and nonsense, as far back as I remember its always been a vote for them or a vote for the liberals. Anything outside of those perameters has always been vote splitting, therefore a vote for the Bloc. This year I feel a change in the tide, people are voting their gut, voting strategically, and voting for change.

Have you tried it? Turns out the party I felt best about is the FURTHEST from my views. I also didn't vote for the party closest, because I feel they don't stand any chance in hell of aquiring any momentum this late in the game. 

 

Anyhow, go out and vote. Wether it be a strategic vote, a loyalist vote or destroying your ballot.
